Orchids

A great place to visit in Cerro Punta is the Dracula Orchid Farm that features guided tours to show of one of the most complete collections of rare American orchids (with a variety of over 2000 species). That place is pure magic and a delight for every nature lover. Orchids have many associations with symbolic values. For example, the orchid is the City Flower of Shaoxing, China. Peristeria elata, known as «flor del Espíritu Santo» is the national flower of the Republic of Panama. Cattleya mossiae is the national Venezuelan flower, while Cattleya trianae is the national flower of Colombia. Vanda ‘Miss Joaquim’ is the national flower of Singapore. Orchids native to the Mediterranean are depicted on the Ara Pacis in Rome, until now the only known instance of orchids in ancient art, and the earliest in European art. Please Note: Opens January till April. For more information and buying tickets see: https://fincadracula.com/tours/
