2013 Carnival in the City ‘Discovery’

From Visitpanama.com: The Carnival of the City is themed ‘Discovery’ this year in honor of the 500th anniversary of Vasco Núñez de Balboa’s sighting of the South Sea in 1513. The four days of Carnival of the City will also feature 48 congo dancing groups, 129 national artists and one international guest artist, which “will be a surprise”, and 10 trucks with tanks full of water to spray on the crowds. “We will have the biggest float in carnival history, measuring 100 feet high.”
